8 Aug The Big Three: The Good, The True, and The Beautiful – Marty Behrens
From Plato to Habermas, philosophy has pointed to these ‘Big Three’ as the very foundation of what it means to be human. The Good is something that we share, the True is that which we know to be real, and the Beautiful is aesthetic. We each tend to have a bias toward one of these perspectives. More recently, the work of Ken Wilber has extended the Big Three into a powerful model of looking at our lives and our world. The presentation will also cover this aspect. Service Coordinator: Sally Mabelle

15 Aug Humanism and the New Pessimism – Bill Cooke
A look at the reframing of some twenty century ideas into this new age; this century with all its pressure and challenges. What is the new pessimism that is being aired and the humanist thinking concerning these ideas?
Service Leader: Karn Cleary.

22 Aug Anything Can Be Sacramental – Everything Is
Service Coordinators: Andrew Rockell and Marty Behrens
The religious upbringing that each of us had, or did not have, may sometimes influence the way we look at the sacramental aspects of spiritual practice and enquiry. In this service, we will explore and experience a variety of unconventional as well as conventional ‘sacraments’. It may be that you will directly experience that this is true: anything can be sacramental.

29 Aug Dualism – Karn Cleary
"The prophet Mani lived in the 4th-5th centuries CE. His religion was very influential throughout Europe and the Middle East for hundreds of years. Today he is hardly known, however his influence has pervaded our culture, and still deeply influences the Western world view."

Some are born great.
Some achieve greatness
Some have greatness thrust upon them
.....and then there are the rest of us
